I'm Skyler — Sky to most people.

I grew up in a small farming town in Southern Utah, which is a funny origin story for someone who now spends their days programming PLCs, building SCADA systems, and convincing industrial equipment to behave itself.

Over the last decade I've worked everywhere from a world-class semiconductor fab to one of the largest potato processing plants on earth. These days I serve as Lead Electrical Programmer at McCain Foods, where I develop and support automation systems that keep high-volume production lines operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

When I'm not at work, I'm usually building something anyway — full-stack web apps, embedded IoT systems, or whatever machine learning rabbit hole I've fallen into this week. I hold a B.S. in Electronics Engineering and I'm a strong believer that the best engineers never stop being students.

I also love to dabble in web development. As you can see, this whole website was designed by me using Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
